Product guiding and belt guiding are different jobs
A product guide controls cartons, bottles or parts above the conveying surface. A belt or chain guide locates the moving conveyor component itself. The contact height, profile and loading are therefore different. State which job the rail performs and whether the product is expected to accumulate against it.
For curve systems, the guide path should be checked together with belt/chain width and inside radius. Local tight spots can create high edge load even when the nominal curve radius is correct.
