Modular Belt Sprockets & Idler Wheels
Drive components selected around positive tooth engagement, belt underside geometry and shaft interface.
Komponentöversikt

Drive components selected around positive tooth engagement, belt underside geometry and shaft interface.
Treat Modular Belt Sprockets & Idler Wheels as part of the conveyor interface. A reliable quotation starts with the belt or chain identity plus the dimensions and mounting details that this component has to match.
Match the belt and shaft together
A sprocket is not safely selected from outside diameter alone. Belt pitch and underside geometry establish the tooth engagement; tooth count influences pitch diameter and wrap; bore/shaft/keyway and hub arrangement connect the drive to the machine. Sprocket spacing across the shaft also supports the belt and distributes the drive.
Split, one-piece and machined forms can suit different maintenance or shaft arrangements. Construction preference comes after the belt tooth interface is confirmed.
Information for matching
| Data | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Belt / chain | Model if known, otherwise pitch + underside and engaged photos |
| Tooth count | Count or clear drawing/photo |
| Bore / shaft | Diameter, keyway or other shaft profile |
| Sprocket form | Split, one-piece or machined if required |
| Spacing | Number and positions across the shaft |
| Quantity | Per shaft and total requirement |
New-build versus replacement specification
For a new conveyor, define the belt family first and then specify the drive shaft, bore or keyed profile, preferred maintenance construction and the number/spacing of sprockets across the belt. For a replacement, the existing engaged tooth pattern is valuable matching detail. Photograph the sprocket before removing it so lateral position and belt engagement remain visible.
If the old sprocket is badly worn, do not use the worn tooth profile as the master geometry. Use belt underside data, a healthy sprocket or an original drawing where available.
Utbytes- och inspektionskontroller
| Kontrollera | Vad som ska spelas in |
|---|---|
| Tooth wear | Photograph worn and healthy areas |
| Shaft condition | Record bore/shaft fit and keyway/profile |
| Engagement | Photograph belt engaged on sprocket |
| Alignment | Record sprocket spacing and lateral position |
Vanliga frågor
Can I match a sprocket by belt pitch?
Pitch is only the first filter. Underside tooth engagement and shaft interface must also match.
When is a split sprocket useful?
It can simplify service on some shafts, but only when the correct belt engagement and shaft interface are available.
